Parties
ctrlz’s parties are welcoming, independent dance gatherings built around adventurous music, free expression and genuine connection. from secret pop-ups and garden parties to mountain sunsets, remote wedding after-parties and all-night Denver dance floors, ctrlz experience creates playful, intentional spaces where phones can stay tucked away, mistakes are welcome and everyone is free to move however feels natural. expect a fluid mix of house, bass, reggae, dub, indie dance and psychedelic electronic music, guided by the people, place and energy of each moment.
what does ctrlz experience sound like?
ctrlz experience is built around vibrational frequencies rather than one fixed genre. sets move fluidly between house, deep house, indie dance, garage, bass, dubstep, reggae, dub, funk, ambient music, techno and psychedelic electronic sounds. song selection changes with the setting: a Colorado ski-resort crowd, a sunrise gathering, a nightclub, a remote wedding after-party and a late-night festival camp should not all sound the same.
the goal is to read the room, build an arc and let the music develop naturally. some sets are energetic and playful; others are patient, spacious and meditative. all of them leave room for surprise.
selected DJ sets and performances
highlight performances include participant-led camp and community sets at Burning Man in Nevada and Lightning in a Bottle in California. these were intimate, independent spaces within two major gatherings where experimentation and community are central to the experience.
at Lightning in a Bottle 2026, ctrlz experience hosted Camp Babe Radio and played a back-to-back set with DJ Nelson Ramirez spanning house, UK garage, bass, dubstep and reggae.
other highlights include Churning Man Festival, après-ski sets in Crested Butte, mountain events in Vail and a seven-hour DJ set at Eldora Mountain Resort preserved in two parts on SoundCloud. ctrlz experience has also played remote and high-energy wedding after-parties in Alaska, Colorado and Lake Tahoe, along with outdoor parties, garden gatherings, Denver nightclubs, secret pop-ups and all-night celebrations.
Colorado roots and Mountain West connections
ctrlz experience is based in Denver and available for bookings throughout Colorado, including Boulder, the Front Range, Colorado ski resorts and mountain towns.
the project also has personal ties to Reno and Northern Nevada, making Lake Tahoe, Reno, Burning Man-related events and other Northern Nevada bookings a natural extension of the ctrlz experience. travel between Colorado and the Reno–Tahoe region is welcomed for festivals, weddings, after-parties, community events and unusual gatherings in remote places.
outside music, work in environmental and mountain planning keeps ctrlz experience closely connected to landscapes, ski areas and public lands. that relationship helps explain why outdoor settings, changing weather, mountain light and the natural rhythm of a place play such an important role in the project.
the philosophy behind the dance floor
The ctrlz experience is influenced by dhamma (dharma), contemplative daily life practice, vipassana (insight) meditation, and teachings of oneness, including the teachings of Sayadaw U Rupert, Thich Nhat Hanh, the Buddha, the Dalai Lama, Ram Dass, Sharon Salzberg, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Ramana Maharshi, and Rupert Spira. These practices encourage presence, curiosity, and acceptance - qualities that also guide the way a set is built within the ctrlz experience.
music does not need to force a particular outcome. it can create the conditions for people to become more aware, less self-conscious and more connected to themselves and one another. mistakes are welcomed as part of the process. when possible, fewer phones and fewer distractions make space for deeper listening, freer movement and genuine participation.
the dance floor can be playful without becoming careless, spiritual without becoming serious and intentional without becoming restrictive. consent, no phones, and vibes are of paramount importance for creating some of the most special dance floors in the multiverse

the ctrlz experience draws from a wide and intentionally varied group of sounds.
